Tea Story

In May 2024, the BESTLEAFTEA team traveled to the ancient tea mountains of Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, to visit the ancient tea gardens and experience the environment where these leaves are grown. Despite wind and rain, the team crossed rugged mountain roads and babbling streams to find ancient tea trees hidden deep in the mountains.

The four-hour hike led through valleys filled with birdsong and flowers, mist-shrouded forests, verdant meadows, and dense ancient tea trees. Along the way, the team saw the tea-making process at a safe, hygienic, and standardized production factory and strengthened their commitment to bringing carefully sourced tea to customers in the United States.

What does this tea taste like?
It tastes smooth, mellow, rich, and naturally earthy, with a warm finish. Ripe pu-erh is often appreciated for its rounded body and calm, satisfying cup.
